Here at Motor City Charters, we specialize in spring-time Detroit River walleye fishing. I’m Captain Al Henderson, owner of Motor City Charters and proud Detroiter. I have been a full time charter captain and fishing guide for 18 years. During the summer months, you will find me in Alaska running halibut charters on the Gulf of Alaska as owner of Gotta Fish Charters. (gottafishcharters.com) During spring, I am back to my roots, jigging for walleye and guiding fishermen on my home waters of the Detroit River.
Capt Al Holding Detroit River walleye

I believe providing an exceptional fishing experience requires a few key ingredients:

-A charter boat perfectly suited for the fishery and outfitted with top quality equipment. All of our equipment is made in the U.S.A!
-An experienced captain that knows the water, the fishery, and the proven techniques to fill the box with walleyes!
-The ability as a seasoned fishing guide to share with everyone, regardless of skill level, the thrill of hookin’ fish!
-Above all else, the most important ingredient to a great day of fishing is good old fashioned fun!
1978 Ford f250 pulling 22 foot key west. Boat and truck for Detroit River walleye charters
Our boat, a 22 foot Key West 216 Bay Reef, is not only American made, but is perfectly suited for Detroit River walleye charters.  The walk around deck design gives 4 fishermen plenty of elbow room and space to jig for walleye comfortably.  Our boat is very wide and stable and was chosen specifically for walleye charters on the Detroit River.
Our walleye boat is powered by 225hsp Mercury Optimax.  Outfitted with an xi5 Motorguide trolling motor and the latest Hummingbird electronics, she is the ultimate walleye jigging machine.
I believe using top of the line tackle is an integral part of fishing success.  Custom jigs and high quality rods are essential for not only the technique but also necessary to feel bites and hook walleyes!
